George Clooney, Girlfriend in Motorcycle Crash

George Clooney and girlfriend Sarah Larson were treated at the hospital Friday for injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a car in New Jersey.

Clooney, 46, suffered a hairline fracture of a rib and road rash, and Larson, 28, suffered a broken foot, his rep says.

They were treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, N.J., and released. Both were wearing helmets.

According to police, Clooney was driving his Harley-Davidson north on Boulevard East in Weehawken, N.J., at 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a 1999 Mazda Millenia. Clooney was passing on the right of the vehicle as it attempted to make a right turn on the two-lane road.

Larson appeared to have cuts on her face and an injured foot and was taken away by ambulance, says Weehawken police Sgt. Sean Kelly.

Clooney accompanied Larson in the ambulance to the hospital.

The Mazda driver, identified as Albert Sciancaledore, 27, of Weehawken, was uninjured.

Clooney told police he was driving in the right lane when the other driver sped up to try and pass him before making the right turn, according to Kelly. But Sciancaledore told police it was Clooney who was trying to pass cars in the right lane, Kelly says.

The crash remains under investigation.

Jerry Zaslavsky, 36, of Weehawken, N.J., witnessed Clooney's collision and assisted the actor – even storing the Harley in his garage overnight.

"He seemed concerned for his friend and quiet. She wasn't seriously injured, but he was making sure she was fine," Zaslavsky told PEOPLE of the post-crash scene. "He was concerned just as anyone would be."

He added: "It was a beautiful day. He was probably enjoying a wonderful afternoon, and as soon as he crested the hill and got this beautiful view Manhattan, he gets into this accident."
